NVNA & Hospice Receive $1 Million Gift From Cathy and Rick Roche

Rick and Cathy Roche donated $1 million to the nonprofit NVNA and Hospice. The contribution is a significant boost to the nonprofit, which has entered the silent phase of a 5-year, $20 million fundraising campaign for hospice and palliative services. Now in their second year of the campaign, this brings the total to $9.5 million raised.

This $5,000 award goes to one Gold Award Girl Scout per council for demonstrating extraordinary leadership and measurable, sustainable impact and addresses an issue of national and/or global significance.

Yawkey Foundation gives $5M to fund nonprofit expansion on Stonehill campus

House of Possibilities, an Easton-based nonprofit that supports people with disabilities, received a $5 million grant from the Yawkey Foundation. The grant will support an expansion project at their facility at Stonehill College. The funds will help fund renovations to the existing Yawkey House, an 11,000-square-foot building that the college calls a “respite for people with disabilities and their families.” The grant will also contribute to a new 15,000-square-foot building.
