From Study Hall To Hollywood, Meet Ryan!


When Tom Hanks says “all aboard” in the Polar Express, I – along with many other viewers –

can’t help but feel anticipation. Well, the same goes for my first out of college job. The feeling of not knowing what an opportunity will bring is terrifying. However, opportunities are a part of life, and they’re not to be taken for granted. Over my professional career I’ve been given opportunities that have led me to where I am now, whether that be in or out of the classroom, and I believe everything happens for a reason.


After acquiring a bachelor’s degree in communication from Bridgewater State University I had no idea what to do next, especially in the middle of a pandemic. I finally narrowed it down and found what interested me the most was public relations – from media relations to social media. Like any new grad, the job search is a daunting process, from not hearing back to making it to the last interview and coming up unsuccessful. With anything in life, we know when things are turning up and when they’re down.


From the first day I met the people of Hollywood Agency I immediately bought in and was ready to give it my all. I left the building with an “I want it” mentality which I never had until this opportunity. Being a part of the Hollywood team is changing me for the better and I love it. To be a part of a team that not only wants the company to succeed but each individual, is remarkable.


Although at times the transition from student to employee can be stressful and overwhelming, the thought of working with some of the best people in the business calms my nerves. I can’t wait to see what I’ve made of myself in the next few months. From the hands-on experience I’ve gained already to learning from my mistakes, the opportunity for improvement will always be there amongst my willingness to learn.
