Fall Intern Mitchell Weiner: Be a Sponge
With Hollywood being a boutique firm, I am able to connect with everyone in the office, growing relationships and learning from the entire team. Every day comes with new tasks, challenges, and a great opportunity to learn. My time at Hollywood has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to keep learning!
After four years of undergrad internship experience, I have been part of many different environments including sports, event planning, social media and now public relations. With such wide range of variety that I have been part of, I can say that the program here at Hollywood is fantastic. Now, many people think internships are a waste of time or too hard to balance with school, sports and extra curriculars but I have learned to embrace the challenge and take it day by day. Each day at Hollywood is completely different and that is what makes it so great.
The best advice I have received throughout my college career was simply “be a sponge.” You might think that is cliché or kind of abstract, but to any college student that is trying to get their foot in the door in their interested field, don’t be afraid to be that sponge and soak up as much information as possible. At Hollywood, I learned that there is no such thing as a stupid question and to always speak up if you have an idea. Having my voice heard and acknowledged at an agency like this has been one of the most impactful experiences during my time at Hollywood.
Not only am I lucky to get hands-on exposure during my internship at Hollywood, but I am so fortunate to be surrounded by such a supportive team that is always welcoming each day I am in the office. I have been included in team meetings, client calls, and have had the great opportunity to potentially bring in new business!
If you are thinking about an internship during the summer or during the year, and you have general interest in communications, public relations, or marketing, I highly recommend looking into Hollywood Agency in Hingham. Everyone is flexible and will work around your schedule and truly wants to make the most of your experience at Hollywood. When the semester comes to an end, I can truly say that I was a sponge and learned so much from such an incredible team!
